Current Support Group Offerings:
Body Image and Eating Disorders - A therapy group for adolescents girls: This group offers a deeper
understanding of body image and eating disorders in a safe, confidential setting. By attending this group you
will gain support, insight and a greater sense of who you are as you develop into a young woman.
Exploring your relationship with food - a therapy group: This is an opportunity for you to improve your
self-image in relation to food, eating and weight in a safe, confidential environment. Through you participation
in this group you may:
* Identify disordered eating patterns
* Understand past and current relationships with food by gaining insight
* Increase self-confidence
* Develop a realistic self and body image
Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Training Group Therapy: It is strongly suggested that participants
in a DBT group also be engaged in individual therapy with a separate clinician. A large part of the
integration of skills is based on the collaboration of the group clinician and individual therapist.
Individuals who would benefit from DBT:
* Experience intense emotional responses and lability of emotions
* Have problems with anger and anger expression
* Episodic depression, anxiety and irritability
* Have chaotic, intense and difficult relationships
* Have trouble regulating their feelings and demonstrate problematic impulsive behaviors
* Have a poor sense of self and feelings of emptiness that become exacerbated in times of stress.
