The field of dance/movement therapy bridges somatic psychology and the creative arts therapies. Like body-centered psychotherapy, dance/movement therapy is rooted in the understanding of the unity and inseparable nature of body/mind. Through sensory awareness, psychomotor expression and creative process we address the embodied nature of our life experiences: the breath flow, movement habits, cognitive style, affective expression, and relational patterns that are shaped by past and present experiences, and in turn shape current experiencing.
