Senior Peer Counseling
Simply stated, Senior Peer Counseling is a relationship in which one person (in this case someone close to your own age) helps another person to better understand and solve some problem. Senior Peer Counselors are specially trained and supervised by a licensed counselor at the Santa Barbara Counseling Center. Peer Counselors have a broad range of experience in working with many different situations and in developing a “helping relationship.” Peer counseling not only provides for the betterment of emotional and mental health, but also offers a unique opportunity to directly assist the client toward other supportive services.
